WBN Tea Talk is an initiative by WIEF Businesswomen Network (WBN). It’s exclusively designed to empower women entrepreneurs in their quest for success as well as a chance to network. It’s an intimate event where an established businessperson relates entrepreneurial experiences and insights to 30 businesswomen in an informal setting. WBN Tea Talk provides a powerful reminder of what entrepreneurs would need to focus on in order to run a successful business in today’s world.

The WBN Tea Talk provides a powerful reminder of what entrepreneurs would need to focus on in order to run a successful business in today’s world.
About Datin Winnie Loo:
After almost four decades, Datin Winnie Loo is not only well known as a hairstylist but also as the founder of A Cut Above, the prestigious hair salons in Malaysia. Trained by one of the world’s best, Vidal Sassoon, she opened her first hair salon soon after returning to Malaysia in 1977. Winnie revolutionised Malaysian local hair industry and it brought her international recognition in the form of multiple awards such as being the first Malaysian to be awarded the World Master of the Craft by the Art & Fashion Group of New York in 1997. Since 2004, Winnie’s been the vice president of Malaysian Hair Association and the current president of Asia Hair Designers Association. Today, she has a group of hair salons patronised by many including celebrities, she employs around 300 staff and still sets the bar in terms of hairstyling in Malaysia.

“The Soul of Success” by Dato’ Sri Meer Sadik Habib
On 21st March 2016, WBN introduced the WBN Tea Talk with Habib Jewels’s Managing Director, Dato’ Sri Meer Sadik Habib. The Tea Talk was an inaugural effort for the WBN, conducted in collaboration with Habib Jewels Sdn Bhd. The Tea Talk with the theme “The Soul of Success” is exclusively designed to further empower women entrepreneur in their quest of success.
30 participants attended the Tea Talk including 17 WBN Alumni. During the one hour session, Dato’ Sri Meer Sadik Habib shared his experience in establishing Habib Jewels form one little shop in Penang into a trusted household name with 33 showrooms located across nation.
Dato’ Sri Meer also shed some light into the creative aspect of a business in order to encourage entrepreneurs to see things in the new and innovation ways as well as to envision their product/services in a new light.
The highlight of the Tea Talk session was the Factory Tour, led by Dato’ Sri Meer himself. During the tour the participants have the chance to learn more about precious stones and jewellery making.
The WBN Inaugural Tea Talk has conveyed a powerful reminder of what entrepreneurs would need to focus on in order to run a successful business in today’s world.
