INTRODUCTION
The use of the Internet for personal and business purposes worldwide have been growing rapidly over the last 10 years. The number of global internet users had exceeded 2.4 billion by the 2nd quarter of 2012, compared to slightly more than 360 million as at the end of 2000. Regionally, Asia recorded the highest growth, from about 114 million to surpass the 1 billion mark over the same period. Within Africa, Morocco leads the pack with more than 16.5 million users (51% penetration rate). Among the top Internet countries of Africa, Seychelles, Tunisia and Egypt recorded 43%, 39% and 35% rate of penetration respectively. (source: www.internetworldstats.com) Businesses worldwide are charting their marketing and sales strategies on the Internet in record numbers and have benefitted tremendously from this medium. The wide acceptance and increasingly popular use of social media platforms coupled with the development in mobile devices have pushed the envelope further. Unfortunately however, the benefits of marketing one&rsquos products or services via online means are sometimes unreachable to micro-enterprises and small businesses as many are still unaware of the benefits, lacks in knowledge in the area, or do not have the access and opportunity to capitalize on the technology. This situation is sometimes worse in areas of developing economies where most enterprises are home-based and run by businesswomen who are often times not exposed to the latest technology.
